Hello!
This is me and my gorgeous baby! I also have an awesome husband (sadly not pictured - we'll get a good family picture soon for you ;).
I'm originally from the wide warm dessert of Utah. I've been doing art as long as I can remember. My mother will gladly show you the little scribbles or "spiders" I drew (and she's saved) back when I was just learning to talk.
By around 14, I was taking commissions from family friends and spending a lot of time drawing. I liked portraits the best.
Eventually I got to study art at Brigham Young University. I got my BA with an emphasis in illustration. While at BYU, I met my future husband who was getting his masters in statistics. (Opposites do attract). We graduated together - though from different colleges of course. Soon after we were engaged and married. Then we moved to Canada!
We lived in Vancouver BC and Toronto ON. We had so many great opportunities in Canada. He earned his PhD and did a post-doctoral fellowship and I got to work at a museum teaching art and guiding tours. I also worked for our city community arts, and got a job doing/learning floral design. I also developed my artistic style, and wrote an illustrated a children's book (it's in review). It was an amazing time learning and growing. We had our sweet baby in Canada, and are headed back to the US so that my husband can accept his professorship at BYU and we can live much closer to our extended family.
I'm looking forward to continuing to create art for you from Provo, Utah and do all I can to make sure the artwork you buy is the finest quality and most likely to bring you joy every time you see it.
I'm inspired by my faith in Jesus Christ and by the amazing people around me. I believe so strongly in the worth of each individual and it's always interesting to me to try to capture their likeness and some of their personality. I also love the beauty of nature. Especially flowers.
I love to use all different types of mediums. For a more detailed explanation of my process, see the description listed - if you want to know more, I'm always happy to talk with you in any way you prefer.
