I've loved growing flowers for a long time and one of the first flowers I wanted to plant (and I did plant) was a morning glory in the small space behind our shed. My morning glory was blue. Morning glories, as far as I know, are not green. I usually don't vary from reality like that, but I really like the harmony of this painting. The analogous color pallet gives the texture of the soft smooth round petal more emphasis. The viewer can easily appreciate the way the petal folds over itself and displays differant colors depending on where the light is hitting it.
